Marvin Cooley, age 87, of Fayetteville, PA, passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at Mercy House in Chambersburg. Born in Portsmouth, VA on March 1, 1937, he was the son of the late Francis M. and Addie Mae Thompson Cooley.
Mr. Cooley was a U. S. Army veteran serving honorably during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Cooley worked for Nitterhouse for 40 years, where he retired and for B-Wise for over 8 years. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW, AMVETS, former Moose Lodge, and the Marine Corps all in Chambersburg, PA.
Surviving are five children, Marvin “Mark” Cooley (wife Cheryl) of York, PA, David “Mike” Cooley (wife Dawn) of Waynesboro, PA, Bill Cooley (wife Diane) of Chambersburg, PA, Karen Hobbs of Chesapeake, VA, and Trina Stitely of Chambersburg, PA and numerous grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Cooley in 2006 and four siblings, Melvin, Frank, Freddy, and Joan.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, September 20, 2024, at 1 PM at Norland Cemetery, Chambersburg, PA, where Rev. Dr. A. Robert Cook will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 20, 2024, from 10:30 – 12:30 PM in the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA.
