Mrs. Pauline E. (Walker) Kissel Short, 94, of Waynesboro, PA, passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2024 in WellSpan Chambersburg Hospital.
Born March 30, 1930 in Mount Union, PA, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Paul Walker, Sr. and Hazel (Watkins) Walker.
A dedicated wife, mother and grandmother, Mrs. Short dedicated her life to raising her children and taking care of her family.
She worked outside the home for many years at L’Aiglon Apparel in Shippensburg, Lutheran Home Care Services and Plasterer’s Florist, both of Chambersburg.
She leaves behind five children, Julius Kissel and his wife, Wanda of Shippensburg, Michael Kissel and his wife, Deborah of Chambersburg, Sharon Kissel Webster of Waynesboro, Thomas Kissel of Fayetteville and Lisa Kissel Bakner and her husband, Brian of Mont Alto; and step-siblings, Twila, Hazel, Alda, Daniel and Paul. A number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren as well as a host of extended family and friends also survive.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, Herman C. Kissel and Lewis W. Short; son, Dennis W. Short; brother, Elvin Walker; and step-siblings, Darlene, James and David.
Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro, with the Rev. Dr. A. Robert Cook officiating.
Arrangements are by Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro.
