Miss Sharon M. Matthews, 72, of Waynesboro, PA passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2024, in Penn State Holy Spirit Medical Center of Camp Hill, surrounded by her family.
Born July 30, 1951, in Waynesboro, PA, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Betty (Martz) Matthews.
Sharon is survived by her brothers: Robert “Bob” Matthews (Sharon), William Matthews of Arizona, Jeff Matthews of Greencastle; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Sharon worked at OSI in Chambersburg when she was younger where she made a lot of friends and enjoyed her job. Later she went to work at Quincy Home where she worked in the kitchen washing dishes and doing other odd jobs.
Sharon enjoyed game shows on TV, mostly Wheel of Fortune. She also liked watching the Food Network and talk about what they made. She also enjoyed the Thursday night ARC Socials when she was younger. Sharon was also a big fan of Penn State Football and made sure she knew the time and the channel for every game. She also enjoyed her knitting and crocheting along with other needle point activities.
Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro is handling the arrangements.
