Mrs. Janet Kline Zook, 87, of Lemoyne, PA and formerly of Waynesboro, PA, passed away Monday, June 10, 2024 in Artis Senior Living of West Shore.

Born January 6, 1937 in Martinsburg, WV, she was the daughter of the late Walter T. and Ruth M. (Atkinson) Kline.

Janet was a graduate of Beall High School in Frostburg, MD. She later attended James Madison University and graduated from Shepherd State College in Shepherdstown, WV with a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education.

She and her husband, the late Mr. Wilbur J. “Wib” Zook, were married June 20, 1970 in Thurmont, MD. They were together for almost 40 years when he passed away February 23, 2010.

Janet was an English teacher and later served as Librarian at the former East Junior High in Waynesboro and later Alexander Hamilton Memorial Free Library in Waynesboro.

She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Waynesboro where she served as a Deacon, Waynesboro Hospital Auxiliary and Waynesboro College Club.

Her many interests included travel often to Bonita Springs, FL, cooking, piano and playing the game of Bridge and golf. She was an avid fan of the Baltimore Orioles and especially enjoyed time spent with her family and their beloved pets.

Janet leaves behind four children, Melissa Z. Grimes (Rick) of Thurmont, MD, Sharon R. Raber (Jeffrey) of Mechanicsburg, PA, Gretchen Z. Radcliffe of Waynesboro and Craig E. Bonebrake (Lisa) of Mechanicsburg; five grandchildren, Jonathan T. Raber, Scott R. Grimes, Jacob D. Raber, Thomas C. Bonebrake and Adam R. Bonebrake; and a host of extended family and friends.

Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, June 14, 2024 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad Street, Waynesboro with Pastor Anthony Saturno officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M., Friday in the funeral home.
