Franklin “Dean” DeShong Sr., 77, of Mercersburg, PA passed away Friday, September 8, 2023 in his home. Born November 30, 1945 in Hancock, MD he was the son of late Elmer and Beverly DeShong.
After graduating high school, Dean went on to serve with the United States Army during the Vietnam from 1966 until his honorable discharge in 1968. Dean loved doing woodworking and making projects. He will be missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Brindle DeShong; three children, April (Jonathan) Pcolinsky of Shippensburg, Heidi (Michael) Burkett of Falling Waters, Vincent (Melissa) DeShong of Greencastle; seven grandchildren, Alexandra (James) Stanton of Fayetteville, Blake Pcolinsky of Shippensburg, Benjamin Burkett of West Virginia, Vincent M. DeShong of Greencastle, Danielle Joseph of Greencastle, Emily (Ryan) Fisher of McConnellsburg, Jared DeShong of McConnellsburg; and three great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Franklin D. DeShong Jr. and a daughter, Tabitha D. DeShong.
