June L. Schwanebeck, age 88, of Waynesboro, PA, passed away at her home on Monday, April 22, 2024. Born in Essex, MD, on June 18, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Fritz Karl Herman Schwanebeck and Berta Gellert Schwanebeck.
June was a 1953 graduate of Kenwood High School and a 1966 graduate of Hagerstown Junior College and Shepherd College both with high honors and first in her class at Shepherd. She was a member of the Church of God. June worked as a Purchasing Agent/Buyer at the former Grove Worldwide, retiring in 1998 after 26 years of service. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, and crabbing trips to the Chesapeake Bay.
Surviving are two siblings, Janice Schwanebeck and Milton Schwanebeck, both of Waynesboro, PA, and 21 nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, June was preceded in death by four siblings, Herbert Schwanebeck in infancy, Gladys Stamper, Hilda Keaton, and Gilbert Schwanebeck.
At June’s request her services will be private. Interment will be in Hades Church Cemetery, Waynesboro, PA. Arrangements are entrusted to the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc., Greencastle, PA
