Mrs. Mary June Kuhn Walker, 91, of Hagerstown, died Monday, April 1, 2013, at Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown.  She was the wife of the late Joseph Hurd Walker, II, her husband of 68 years who died in 2010.

Born June 22, 1921, in Hagerstown, she was a daughter of the late Harry Clyde Kuhn and Vesta Naomi Manahan Kuhn Ramsey.

She graduated with the Class of 1939 from Hagerstown High School.  She worked for C&P Telephone Company during World War II; Goldwater’s Department Store in Scottsdale, Arizona; and retired as a Court Clerk from State of Maryland District Court from Washington County.

Mrs. Walker was a member of First Christian Church, Hagerstown; and was an avid Bridge player.

She is survived by her children, Kathryn E. Hawbaker and husband Sam of Hagerstown, Bethany J. Phillips and husband Barry of Martinsburg, West Virginia, and Joseph H. Walker, Jr., and wife Elodia of Houston, Texas; her grandchildren, Joshua M. Hyman and wife Rebecca of Pawtucket, Rhode Island, Sarah K. Hoopengardner and husband Cody of Hagerstown, Kelly A. Watts and husband Jason of Tritch, Texas, Christopher T. Phillips of Martinsburg, Nina Wilson and husband John of Katy, Texas, and Lorena D. Frantz and husband Jack of Hagerstown; as well as her great grandchildren Willi, Jacob, Jasmine, Cinnamin, Noah, Alyssa, Joey and Evan, and her nephew Harold E. “Eddie”  Basore of Nashville, Tennessee.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson Travis C. Hyman; and sister Adella G. Kuhn Basore Cochrane.

The Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, Hagerstown, is handling the arrangements.  There will not be visiting at the funeral home.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, April 5, 11:00 AM, at Rose Hill Cemetery, Hagerstown, with pastor, Rev. Leonard W. Smith, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church, 1345 Potomac Avenue, Hagerstown, Maryland  21742.
