It is with great sadness that the family of Ronald L. “Ron” Young, 75 of Hagerstown, and formerly of Frederick, announce that he passed away Monday, October 17, 2022, at Meritus Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Karen Young, his wife of 46 years.
Born June 2, 1947, in Frederick, he was the son of Betty J. Young of Hagerstown, and the late Donald L. Young.
Ron was a graduate of Frederick High School. He worked at AT&T later transferring to C&P Telephone, and later Bell Atlantic/Verizon Communications.
He was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Lodge 378, Hagerstown.
Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by his daughter, Rebecca Lauterbach, and husband Jesse; son, Donnie and wife, Janet; as well five grandchildren, Eli, Sidney, Ben, Maddie, and Alison; as well as his sister Patricia Eyler of Frederick.
The Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, Hagerstown, is assisting the family with arrangements. There will not be visiting at the funeral home. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
