Mr. Grayson Roy Babington, 86, of Hagerstown, died Wednesday morning, February 22, 2023, at Charlotte’s Home, Boonsboro. He was the husband of the late, Mrs. Beatrice Joan “JoAnn” Renner Babington, who preceded him in death on August 26, 2019.
Born October 15, 1936, in Middletown, he was a son of the late Roy G. and Ruby I. Main Babington.
Mr. Babington worked with the City of Hagerstown for many years.
He was an avid hunter, and enjoyed competing with black powder shoots. Consequently, he was a member of St. Thomas Sportsman Association and The Tuscarora Rangers. He was also a life member of Western Enterprise Fire Company, Hagerstown.
Surviving are sisters Jane Staubs and husband Perry of Ranson, West Virginia, Nancy Nalley of Hagerstown, and Judith Hickey of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Babington was preceded in death by siblings Charles Babington, Janice Hoover and Louise Howlett.
The family will receive friends at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, 40 East Antietam Street, Hagerstown, Tuesday, February 28, beginning at 10:00 AM, and until the funeral service begins at the funeral home at 11:00 AM, with Rev. James E. Gross officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Hagerstown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Babington’s name to charity of one’s choice.
