WAYNESBORO, Pa. – Sixth-graders at St. Andrew Catholic School in Waynesboro volunteered at Waynesboro Community and Human Services (WCHS), 116 Walnut St., Nov. 3 to help with the Fresh Express distribution that day.
The effort was part of a community service activity conducted each month at WCHS by either sixth-, seventh- or eighth-grade students at the school. Students unload and repack items for the distribution and have been volunteering there for about 10 years.
The Fresh Express drive-through distribution is held from 10 a.m. to noon the first Tuesday of each month with about 100 local families receiving a box of dry food items and a bag of dairy products. The next Fresh Express distribution will be held Tuesday, Dec. 1.
