Joseph “Joe” Whitehead, 69, of Chambersburg, PA, was found passed away on October 1, 2026, at his home, born October 10, 1956, in Michigan, he was the son of Rosetta Carter Whitehead and the late Andrew Whitehead.
Joe was a dedicated forklift driver at World Kitchen in Greencastle, PA, for many years before retiring in 2019.
Joe was a life long fan of the Philadelphia Eagles. He watched every game, wore his fan gear, and cheered them on, even if they were losing. When the days were nice, he spent his time out by the waters fishing, while making sure he got out early for the right spot, then waiting all day for that “big one” to bite.
He also enjoyed being with his family and friends during the holidays, going to cookouts, or celebrations, and watching his grandson’s at their ball games. His grandkids were his biggest blessings and he was so proud of them all. He simply loved being a Granddad.
Joe is survived by his two children; Jamill Whitehead of Chambersburg, PA, and Akia Whitehead of Biglerville, PA; seven grandchildren; DaShaun, Malik, Eli, Chanelle, Kasen, Saquon, and Zoriana; five siblings; Emma Jean, Mary, Henry, Daniel, and James Whitehead; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his three brothers; Andrew Jr, Ernest B, and Moses Whitehead.
A Celebration of Life in his memory will be announced at a later date and time.
Arrangements are entrusted to Sellers Funeral Home, Chambersburg, PA.
