Charles E. Condor, 90, of Fayetteville, PA, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at his home. He was born on November 30, 1935 in Ralph, PA to the late Stephen M. and Anna (Shubert) Condor.
Chuck was a 1953 graduate of German Township High School, later attending college in Morgantown, West Virgina and California Teachers College. In 1954, he joined the Navy and during his enlistment, spent a total of three and half years at sea aboard the USS Eldorado. His travels took him around the world visiting 5 continents and countless small islands, including the Arctic Circle/Point Barrow, Alaska, Hawaii, Formosa, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Okinawa and various other ports in Japan.
While on leave from the Navy, he met the love of his life, Toni Marie Moscovits, at a sock hop in Republic, PA. They married in 1959 and settled in the DC area (first in the city, then Alexandria, VA before setting up roots in Maryland). They had eight children in 8 and half years. Chuck worked at NASA Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD for 40 years. He absolutely loved his job being on the forefront of space and solar technology and many of his colleagues became life-long friends. Chuck retired in 1999, and he and Toni Marie moved to Penn National to enjoy the retirement life – which they very much did.
Chuck was a person who liked to learn and better himself. Chuck was also an avid golfer (often annoying his sons who needed to wait until he got old to beat him), an excellent lawn care specialist who took care of his golf-course looking yard to the end, but most of all, Chuck was a family man. He considered his parents his heroes and he raised his children to consider him their hero as well.
While he very much loved his children, he may have loved his 18 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren even more! The joy they brought to his life is immeasurable. Chuck was a pretty amazing grandfather. He always found a way to attend countless sporting events, art exhibits, and graduations, taking great pride in all of their accomplishments.
He is survived by 7 children Charles E. “Chuck” Condor, Jr. (Kathy); Camille Gonzalez; Stephen Condor (Karen); Theresa “Tess” Condor; Paul Condor (Rosefe); Andrew Condor (Christine); Toni Marie Comer, 18 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; son-in-law, Kenneth Robertson; and very dear friend Carole Prusinowski. In addition to his parents, Chuck is preceded in death by his wife, Toni Marie Condor, daughter, Julie Robertson, and his six siblings.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 11, 2026, from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM and Monday, October 12 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Coyle Free Library, 102 N. Main Street, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
