Barbara J. Crawford Thomas, age 69, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones. Born January 23, 1957, to Dalton M. and Edna (Clark) Crawford in Chambersburg, PA.
Barb was a 1974 graduate of James Buchanan High School and Franklin County Vo-Tech where she studied textiles and fabrications. She then went on to apply her expertise within her own business, which allowed her to continue practicing her craft by completing projects that varied from upholstering furniture and various automotives/recreational vehicles to sewing and alterations. While her business was meaningful, the most important thing in life was her family. Barb always found a way to thread herself into important life events, often altering prom dresses, wedding and bridal dresses, and numerous other garments. Barb found joy in crocheting, cooking and baking, and sharing those meals and desserts with others.
Surviving is her son, Christopher Webber of FL; a sister, Carolyn Clark of St. Thomas; 5 grandchildren, Briana, Spencer, Bryce, Carson, and Emerson; 5 great grandchildren, Kataleia, Camryn, Jaxen, Hazen, and Cooper; 3 nephews, Michael, Darren, and Jason; and 2 nieces, Heather and Daniella. In addition to her parents, Barb was preceded in death by her son, Israel Webber, and her brothers, Dwight and Alvin Crawford. She was also preceded in death by her beloved dog, Dymond, who brought her many years of love, joy, and companionship – we find comfort in knowing they are together again.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2026 at 6:00pm in the chapel of Thomas L.
