SMITHSBURG, Md. — A two-day festival will take place at Ivy Hill Farm, 13840 Smithsburg Pike, with free admission for visitors.
Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 11.
The annual event will feature freshly pressed sweet apple cider, homemade apple butter demonstrations and a selection of whole and sliced homemade pies served with ice cream.
Visitors also can pick pumpkins in the farm’s pumpkin patch, take hay rides and meet farm animals. Food trucks, local artisan vendors, live music and a Kids Zone are planned throughout the festival.
The Kuhn Family Kettle Cooked Apple Butter will be available for purchase, along with seasonal mums, gourds, jellies, jams and fall decorations.
The farm festival is intended to celebrate 50 years of welcoming the community to the family farm and sharing fall activities, food and locally made goods.
