WAYNESBORO, Pa – Waynesboro Youth Soccer Association kicked off its fall season Saturday with its annual SoccerFest opening ceremony.
Players and teams marched in and were introduced before Commissioner Robert E. Stum, who started the youth soccer program, addressed families. Assistant Commissioner Debbie Jacobs also gave brief remarks.
The association has more than 400 players this fall, including five travel teams in the United Recreational Soccer League and 24 in-house teams. The in-house program includes U6, eight U8, 10 U11 and five U15 teams.
Teams posed for photos and played shortened games throughout the morning. The season continues through the end of October, with in-house games held Saturday mornings at the association’s complex.
