With heavy hearts and endless love, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Susan Kay Forti, who passed away peacefully on September 3, 2026, at the age of 70.

Born Susan Kay George, she grew up in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, and later made her home in Chambersburg, where she lived with her daughter, Cleopatra. To her friends, she was lovingly known as “Suzie,” and to her grandchildren, she was their beloved “Yiayia.”

Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Barbara George of Waynesboro, Pa. Susan’s children and grandchildren were her whole world. She is survived by her three children, Robert Blan, Antonios Kritikos, and Cleopatra Kritikos, and her beloved grandchildren, Angelo and Ella Kritikos. She also leaves behind her favorite grand doggie, Meechi Kritikos, whom she loved dearly.

She found joy in the simple, beautiful things in life. She loved putting puzzles together, going out to eat with her friends, thrift store shopping, and traveling to Florida to visit her son Bob. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and making memories with the people she loved. Susan had a heart that was always giving. She was always trying to cook for you and make sure you had something to eat, even when she was out of breath. That was simply who she was—always thinking of others, always wanting to make sure you were taken care of. She even lovingly prepared meals for her grand doggie, Meechi, every day. Her laugh was infectious, and her warmth had a way of making the people around her feel loved. She had a beautiful heart, a generous spirit, and a love for her family that will never be forgotten.

Susan was a Christian, and we find comfort in believing that she is now in Heaven, reunited with her beloved parents. While our hearts ache from losing her, we are grateful that she is at rest and no longer suffering.

We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Susan’s closest friends, who were there for her, cared for her, and helped take her to doctor’s appointments and so much more. Alisa Reynolds, Tammy Price, Gerri Geesaman, Cathy Steinberger, Roxanne Gunnells, and Colleen French, to name a few, will always hold a special place in our hearts. Your love, kindness, and friendship meant more than words can express. We will forever be thankful for the memories, the laughter, the meals, the visits, and all the little moments that made our time with her so special. Her love will live on in her children, grandchildren, and everyone fortunate enough to have known her. Rest peacefully, Mom. Rest peacefully, Yiayia. You were so deeply loved, and you always will be.

A celebration of Susan’s Life is being planned and will be announced at a later date.
