WAYNESBORO, Pa. — Young entrepreneurs joined the regular lineup of merchants Saturday, Sept. 5, for Kid Vendor Day at Market at the Park in Main Street Park.
The special market brought together about 70 vendors in the parklet and adjacent parking lot, according to event listings. Youth-run businesses were featured alongside the market’s usual offerings, giving young vendors an opportunity to introduce their products and develop experience selling directly to customers.
Market at the Park was held from 8:30 a.m. to noon at Main Street Park, 25 E. Main St. The outdoor market operates on most Saturdays through Sept. 26 and regularly includes locally grown produce, meat, plants, crafts, baked goods and honey.
Kid Vendor Day was one of several themed market dates planned by Mainstreet Waynesboro Inc. for the season. The organization had promoted the event as an opportunity to support young people in the region who operate their own businesses.
