HAGERSTOWN, Md. — Rider Jet Center will host the 18th annual Hangarfest on Sept. 26, an evening of live music, dancing and food trucks benefiting Breast Cancer Awareness Inc.
The event, which marks the 15th year Rider Jet Center has hosted Hangarfest, will feature opening entertainment by the Jill Fulton Band beginning at 6 p.m. when doors open. The Reagan Years, billed as the East Coast’s Original ’80s Tribute Band, is scheduled to perform at about 7:30 p.m.
Advance tickets are $50 and include one drink ticket. Tickets purchased at the door will cost $60. All tickets are nonrefundable.
Guests must be 21 or older, and identification will be checked at the door. The event will be cashless, with credit cards accepted for purchases.
All ticket sales and proceeds from the event will benefit Breast Cancer Awareness Inc., a tri-state organization that provides free breast cancer support services, early-detection assistance and programs for patients and families affected by the disease.
The organization’s Mammogram/Ultrasound Program provides free early-detection services. Its Moving Forward program offers counseling and support after diagnosis, educational resources, post-surgical comfort items and bras and camisoles.
Other programs include For Our Kids, which provides teddy bears and care packages for children of patients; Dinner’s Ready, which offers gift cards to help families purchase meals during treatment; and Clean Sweep, which provides certificates for two hours of professional house cleaning.
Breast Cancer Awareness Inc. also operates a full-service wig boutique for cancer patients who experience hair loss from chemotherapy. During individual appointments, patients may select a wig, hats and scarves and receive wig-care products, a wig stand and care instructions at no cost.
