Boonsboro to mark 25 years of remembrance with Sept. 11 parade

BOONSBORO, Md. — Clopper-Michael American Legion Post 10 will join first responders, veterans, military organizations and community groups for Boonsboro’s 25th annual 9/11 Remembrance Parade on Friday, Sept. 11.

Organized by the First Hose Company of Boonsboro, the annual event honors firefighters, emergency responders, law enforcement officers and civilians killed in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. The observance also recognizes members of the U.S. military, including those who died in service to the country.

The parade will travel along historic Main Street in Boonsboro and will bring together fire and rescue departments, police agencies, veterans’ groups, military organizations and other community participants.

The 2026 event carries added significance as the community marks 25 years since the attacks. Organizers said the parade is intended to preserve the memory of those lost and recognize the courage and sacrifice associated with that day.

The parade is scheduled for Sept. 11, although published information differs on the start time. The Town of Boonsboro’s event calendar lists a 6:30 p.m. start, while an invitation from Clopper-Michael American Legion Post 10 lists the start time as 6 p.m.
