Mr. Jimmy D. Hoffman, 72 of Carlisle, PA, passed away Monday, August 24, 2026, in his home.
Born June 21, 1954 in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late George S. and Mary Jane “Janie” (Peiffer) Hoffman.
Jimmy was a graduate of Waynesboro Area Senior High School with the Class of 1972.
A longtime employee of Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Jimmy worked as an engineering technician for more than 20 years. During his years of service, he received many accolades for his hard work and dedication.
He cherished time spent with family and his many friends and enjoyed a cold Guinness.
He is survived by three children, Brian D. Hoffman (Sara) of Fallston, MD, Heather J. Hoffman (Bernie Mooney) of Rocks, MD and Andrew T. Hoffman of Abingdon, MD; three grandchildren, Jordan Hickman, Ethan Hoffman and Logan Hoffman; his longtime companion, Paula Green of Carlisle; his sister, Judith A. Hoffman of Springfield, VA; his former wife, Laura Bosley of Bel Air, MD; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, George S. Hoffman, II.
A Celebration of Jimmy’s Life will be held at 3:00 P.M., Saturday, August 29, 2026 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. Casual dress is encouraged. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, Saturday afternoon, in the funeral home.
A second memorial service will be held from 11:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M., Sunday August 30, 2026, at Sean Bolans Irish Pub, 12 S. Main St., Bel Air, MD.
