Mrs. Louise Elizabeth (Keefer) Kiser went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at Paramount Senior Living, Fayetteville, PA. Born July 13,1931, in Mercersburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Eva (Thomas) Keefer Ricker and Harvey Keefer
As a child, she attended schools in both the Mercersburg, PA and Waynesboro, PA areas. As a teenager, she played guitar and sang at local venues.
On June 30, 1951, she married the love of her life, Lyle E Kiser Sr, a loving marriage that lasted until his death on January 19th, 2015.
For years, she sang gospel music as part of a duo with her sister Mabel Bingaman at churches and hymn-sings, even hosting for a time their own local radio broadcast.
A homemaker for most of her life, Louise delighted in her Savior, her husband and her family, as well as all aspects of caring for her home. She loved gardening, caring for growing flowers (whether hers or not) and she would spend hours watching birds.
Though a devoted homemaker, she greatly enjoyed her employment of several years as a camera operator at the PA Driver’s License Photo Center in Chambersburg, PA, and the opportunity it provided her to meet people.
She will be remembered for her faith, her sparkling eyes, her warm, genuine smile and her beautiful hair.
She is survived by 5 children: Sandra Smith, Smithsburg, MD Kathey Stoner, Greencastle, PA Lyle E “Gene” Kiser Jr, husband of Julie, Shady Grove, PA Shirley Reed, wife of Rev. Dr. Stephon Reed, Springfield, WV Kenneth Kiser, husband of Anna, Middleburg, PA. Louise was preceded in death by two of her children, Beverly Kuhn, wife of Dennis, Greencastle, PA, and Timothy Kiser of Hagerstown, MD. She was also preceded in death by a grand-daughter, Michelle Kiser She is survived by 10 Grandchildren, 18 Great-grandchildren and 6 Great-great grandchildren Louise was the last of her immediate family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings Mary McFadden, Chester Keefer, Goldie Socks, Mabel Bingaman, Amos Keefer and Merle Keefer, as well as several nieces and nephews.
In compliance with Louise’s wishes, there will be no viewing. A graveside-service will be held on Monday, August 10th at 2:00 PM at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Greencastle, PA with Rev. Dr. Stephon Reed officiating. (Cemetery North side)
