Mr. Carroll F. Baranowske, Jr., 89, of South Mountain, PA, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2026 in WellSpan York Hospital.
Born June 10, 1937 in South Mountain, he was the son of the late Carroll, Sr. and Vada (Linton) Baranowske.
Mr. Baranowske served his country in the United States Army from 1955 until his honorable discharge in 1958.
He and his wife, the late Mrs. Geraldine Baranowske, were married April 27, 1977. They made their home in New York for many years before moving to South Mountain. They shared 45 years together when Geraldine passed away March 4, 2023.
Mr. Baranowske was a long-time employee of the New York Highway Department. He also worked at U-Haul in Hagerstown, MD and locally at Swope’s Tire Center in Waynesboro.
He was a member of both South Mountain and Waynesboro Fish and Game Associations.
Mr. Baranowske is survived by three children, Carroll F. Baranowske, III (Elaine) of Tomkins Cove, NY, John Baranowske (Melanie) of Waynesboro and Steven Baranowske (Michelle) of South Mountain; six grandchildren, Amber Strode, Holly Snider, Cydney Baranowske, Frank Sacco, Tara Baranowske and Gina Holt; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Darlene Kline of Greencastle, PA; and a number of nieces and nephews as well as a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Joan Kline and Vesta Martin.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, August 24, 2026 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro with Pastor Lee Daywalt officiating. Burial will follow in Strang’s Cemetery, South Mountain.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
