Madeleine Faye Artman, 90, of Fayetteville, PA, passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at her home. She was born on August 10, 1936, in Shamokin, PA to the late William Howard and Mabel Louella (Schlegel) Spotts.
Madeleine was a graduate of Coal Township High School. She was employed by the Chambersburg Area School District as a food service worker until her retirement in 1995. Madeleine was a member of Fayetteville Otterbein Church and sang in the choir for over 50 years. She was a talented singer and frequently performed solos at weddings, funerals, etc. She enjoyed spending her free time relaxing at home.
She is survived by her daughter Karen L. Artman of Fayetteville, PA; brother Mearl Spotts (Carol) of Shamokin, PA; brother-in-law Paul Olvany of Shamokin, PA; and 9 nieces and nephews and their families. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Lamar William Artman, brother Donald Spotts and his wife Doris, sister Carol Olvany, and Karen’s significant other Robert Cline.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202 with Pastor Bill Smith and Pastor Tom Willis officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Friday, from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
