GREENCASTLE, Pa. — The Greencastle-Antrim School District has announced its schedule for orientation and open house events across primary, elementary, middle and high school levels ahead of the official first day of school on Thursday, Aug. 20.
The series of events kicked off Wednesday, Aug. 12, with the Greencastle-Antrim High School ninth grade and new student orientation.
On Thursday, Aug. 13, Greencastle-Antrim Middle School will host its orientation and open house sessions. Sixth grade orientation is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the GAHS Shockey Family Center for Performing Arts, with sixth grade classroom visitation following from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at GAMS.
Seventh and eighth grade orientation will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Shockey Family Center, with seventh and eighth grade classroom visitation held from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at GAMS.
Events continue Monday, Aug. 17, with activities for both primary and high school students.
Greencastle Primary School will hold its open house for students to meet teachers and view classrooms. Kindergarten open house is set for 5:15 p.m. to 6:15 p.m., first grade from 6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., and second grade from 7:15 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.
Also on Aug. 17, GAHS will hold its returning student open house. Schedule pickup in the cafeteria is scheduled from 1:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. if needed, followed by orientation at the Shockey Family Center for Performing Arts from 1:45 p.m. to 2 p.m. Classroom visitation will take place from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
The district’s elementary open house events will wrap up Tuesday, Aug. 18. Third grade open house is scheduled from 5:15 p.m. to 6:15 p.m., fourth grade from 6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., and fifth grade from 7:15 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.
All district students will return to classes for the first day of school on Aug. 20.
