Katrina A. Stanford, 95, of Fayetteville, PA, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 7, 2026, at Chambersburg Hospital.

Born at home on April 18, 1931, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late James Theodore Stanford, Sr. and Ruby Mae (Reynolds) Stanford.

Katrina devoted much of her life to serving her country through a distinguished career with the federal government. Over the course of several decades, she held a variety of positions and worked alongside numerous high-level government officials and executives, including President Carter. Her dedication, professionalism, and commitment to public service were hallmarks of her career.

A faithful member of Presbyterian Church of Falling Spring, Katrina also enjoyed fellowship as a member of the Waynesboro Country Club and as a social member of the Chambersburg VFW. She possessed a creative spirit and found great joy in crafting. Over the years, she lovingly made clothing and blankets and created treasured Christmas ornaments for her family. An avid traveler, Katrina embraced opportunities to explore cities around the world, creating memories that lasted a lifetime. Above all else, she cherished her family, whose love and companionship brought her the greatest happiness.

She is survived by her sons, James W. Shores of Burke, VA, Kenneth Allen Shores of Chantilly, VA, and Leland J. Shores of Sterling, VA; her grandchildren, Natalie Ann Shores, Christopher T. Shores, Victorine H. Gauthier, Melissa R. Shores, and Bryan S. Shores; her great-grandchildren, Annabelle Lewis, Skylar Shores, Waylon Warren, Colette Gauthier, Henry Gauthier, Walker Warren, and Wyatt Warren; and her siblings, Martha Staton, Sally Rausch, and James Stanford.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Friday, August 14, 2026, at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 17, 2026, at Fairfax Memorial Park, 9900 Braddock Road, Fairfax, VA 22032.
