LEITERSBURG, Md. — The 47th annual Peach Festival brought visitors together Aug. 8-9 to celebrate Washington County’s orchard heritage while supporting the Leitersburg Ruritan’s community programs.
The free festival featured approximately 110 craft vendors, live music, food, peach desserts, family activities and demonstrations including chainsaw carving, blacksmithing and K-9 presentations.
Festivalgoers enjoyed peach cobbler, pies and ice cream, along with sandwiches, hand-cut fries and other food options. A Sunday morning 5K Run/Walk honored longtime festival supporter Jack Roberts, with proceeds benefiting scholarship programs.
Funds raised during the weekend support Ruritan Park and Community Center upkeep, scholarships, local families, Scouting Troop 108 and youth programs.
