What’s the world coming to?

Dargan boy Peter Waters sampling pie

Have you noticed all the air in the potato chip bag lately?

Or does the toothpaste in a toothpaste tube seem a little light?

Did your car insurance go up?

How about your real estate taxes?

Have you noticed if you buy a battery for your vehicle that the warranty is no longer for 60 months?

What do you get for $100 these days in a grocery store?  Are food prices increasing?

Gasoline prices are soon going to go down; some say just give the President a few more days to end the Iran skirmish, and you will see; in the meantime, just be patient.

Our leader says that skirmish will be over in a few more weeks or months or years; but that’s the same fellow who was going to end the Ukraine skirmish with Russia quickly, once elected.

Do you remember that the Vietnam skirmish lasted 20 years?

How did that one work out for us?

And I’m thinking that Afghanistan skirmish lasted about 20 years!

Still trying to figure how that one worked out too?

Surely, this ‘tiny little skirmish’ in Iran won’t last that long, will it?

Hope not.

There is, for certain, a lot of crazy stuff going on in the world these days.  Lots of nuclear bombs out there, so I’m glad Iran won’t have one!

Now if we can do something about all the other countries who have nuclear bombs, all of us may sleep a little better at night.

I think I am beginning to feel a little safer myselfmaybe.

Are you?

Me neither.

Seems like that small little rotating ball below the stratosphere with all those different cultures of humanity on it has a lot going on these days; troubles seem to be roaming some back-alley streets.

God must be a little disappointed in the progress of man thus far.

That free will stuff seems like it’s a little stuck on a scratched 45 RPM record, doesn’t it?

If someone from outer space is studying our little world in their tiny little space ship, they must be scratching their head if they have one at the progress of humanity in this sector of the universe.

It is little wonder, no one from outer space, has taken the time to say hello, and to inform us, that they come in peace.

I wonder really if that word peace is ever used in outer space.

Most likely we would shoot any aliens announcing peace down here upon their arrival, and they have already figured that one out.

And some say that there is a problem in our world these days as families are reluctant to have children.

Is this the future of tomorrow, a population decline?

Just look at today’s babies; as they grow up, and are running from one part of the world to the other, in search of a better home and something to eat?

Immigration is becoming a bigger problem in many places today in the world; in the 1600s immigrants from distant parts of the world even came to this continent to begin another story.

And many have made much progress at the expense of others; let’s just ask the Native American Indians how they feel.

Our American prisons today are filled too with some of those kiddies who didn’t make it up through life so well because some of the bad things they learned from the cradle growing up.

Surely, prisons will correct that criminal’s bad behavior, won’t they?

How about in our local prisons?

Do your really believe all those bad stories you read about in the paper locally about prisons?

It’s just a little blip in the road, I’m thinking, and soon some politician will wave a magic wand in Annapolis and all the prison problems will disappear and inmates won’t have to lie dead in their cell for a few days before being discovered.

Stabbings and violence will soon decrease there too and all staff vacancies will be filled.

Not hardlyThat is only wishful thinking!

And speaking of politicians fixing problems, one day before long, someone in our Congress might soon discover that perhaps the $29 trillion dollar nation’s deficit might create an economic crisis somewhere down the road.

I hope it’s nothing like the Great Depression of the ’30s; history reports that one caused much havoc and sorrow.

What’s the world coming to anyway?

My toothpaste tube I bought yesterday seems almost empty.

Go figure!!!! ~
