Mrs. Rella L. (Gipe) Keller, 84, of Greencastle, PA, passed away Thursday, July 16, 2026, in Mercy House, Chambersburg, PA.

Mrs. Keller was born on January 7, 1942, in Chambersburg. She was the daughter of the late Edgar G. and Louise (Snider) Gipe.

A 1959 graduate of Greencastle-Antrim High School, Rella continued her education at Millersville University. On July 29, 1960, she married the love of her life, William “Bill” D. Keller, in Greencastle, beginning a marriage that spanned many cherished years.

Before her retirement in 1999, Rella devoted 24 years of service to Citizens National Bank in Greencastle, where she worked as a mortgage lender and formed many lasting friendships. She retired in 1975.

Rella possessed a remarkable artistic talent and found great joy in sharing her gift with others. She taught painting classes from her home for many years and was an active member of Apple Valley Artists. Through her involvement with the organization, she traveled throughout the country attending national conventions in places such as Albuquerque, New Mexico, Ohio, and New York.

Family was at the center of Rella’s life. When their children were young, she and Bill began vacationing in Chincoteague Island, Virginia, creating cherished memories that would span generations. Their love for the island eventually led them to purchase a home there, which they enjoyed for 15 years recently selling it. Rella treasured the time spent there with family and looked forward to each opportunity to gather with those she loved.

She also valued the lifelong friendships she maintained, faithfully gathering each month with her Greencastle-Antrim High School classmates and former coworkers from Citizens National Bank. These monthly get-togethers reflected the importance she placed on friendship and staying connected with those who had shared life’s journey with her.

In addition to her husband, Bill, she is survived by her three children, Craig W. Keller of Confluence, PA, Brian D. Keller and his wife Cindy (Daihl) Keller, of Shade Gap, PA, and Dawn M. Herr of WV; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Dwaine Gipe.

Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Private interment will take place in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the John L. Grove Medical Center, 50 Eastern Ave. Ste 141, Greencastle, PA, 17225.

Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home, Greencastle, PA, is handling the arrangements.
