This week, theaters across south-central Pennsylvania and western Maryland have a wonderful lineup of performances. From timeless musicals to youth productions, stages in Franklin, Washington and Frederick counties are coming alive.
Whether you prefer a lighthearted beach tribute or a modern satire, there’s a show this month that will match every taste.
Franklin County
Waynesboro Children’s Theater Troupe is holding auditions for “The Little Mermaid” at the Waynesboro Church of the Brethren, 117 S. Church St. Auditions for youth ages 11-18 is on Monday, Aug. 24, starting at 6 p.m. Auditions for youth ages 6-10 is on Tuesday, Aug. 25, at 6 p.m. Callbacks are on Wednesday, Aug. 26, at 7 p.m. All auditioning should bring a current photo and a completed audition application, which can be found at www.wctt.org. Shows are from Dec. 3-6 (only four shows).
