HAGERSTOWN, Md. — The Washington County Public Schools Meal Machine has relocated to a new site at Meritus Medical Center, providing easier access for families seeking free summer meals for children.
The mobile meal service is now stationed in the Silver Parking Lot between spaces 38 and 39, just off Mt. Aetna Road near the Meritus School of Osteopathic Medicine. The program offers free meals to all children under 18, with no registration or documentation required.
The Meal Machine operates on weekdays through Aug. 14, serving meals from 11 to 11:20 a.m.
School officials said the relocation is intended to improve accessibility and visibility for families in the area. The summer meals program is part of a broader effort to ensure children continue to receive nutritious meals while school is not in session.
Community members are encouraged to share information about the new location to help reach families who may benefit from the service.
School officials emphasize that the program is open to all eligible children, regardless of school enrollment and aims to reduce food insecurity during the summer months.
