WAYNESBORO, Pa. — Greencastle Post 373 came up just short in a tightly contested matchup against Waynesboro Post 15, falling 5-4 in Franklin County American Legion Baseball action.
Waynesboro (11-1) maintained its hold atop the standings with the one-run victory, while Greencastle slipped to 5-6 on the season.
Post 15 capitalized on timely hitting and consistent pitching to build a narrow advantage, then held off a late push from Greencastle. Post 373 battled throughout and kept the game within reach, but was unable to complete the comeback.
The win keeps Waynesboro in first place in the county standings, followed by Chambersburg Post 46 (8-2) and Shippensburg Post 223 (7-4). Greencastle currently sits in the middle of the pack as the regular season continues.
