Hundreds of classic cars and trucks of all makes and models, and thousands of people, are expected in downtown Waynesboro on Saturday, June 20, for the annual Father’s Day Cruisin’ the Main Car & Truck Show from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. On-site registration opens at 9 a.m. and costs $15. Trophies will be awarded for Best of Show Car, Best of Show Truck, Mayor’s Choice, People’s Choice, Kids Choice and the top 25 vote-getters. Main Street will be closed from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., with the trophy presentation expected at about 2:15 p.m. The event is coordinated by Mainstreet Waynesboro and the Appalachian Golden Classics Car Club. Proceeds benefit Mainstreet and other local charitable causes. Other highlights include the Market at the Park farmers market at Main Street Park, 25 E. Main St., food trucks, and dozens of local shops and restaurants.

A century of stories is about to be sealed for the next generation as the Ritchie History Museum invites the community to take part in a unique anniversary celebration and time capsule burial. The museum will host its 100th anniversary event at 4 p.m. June 20 at 14319 Barrick Ave., Cascade, Maryland, where attendees can contribute personal items to a multi-capsule time capsule that will be reopened in 50 years during Fort Ritchie’s 150th anniversary. Organized as both a commemorative event and fundraiser, proceeds will support the museum’s upcoming research center while giving participants a chance to preserve pieces of modern life — from photos and letters to memorabilia — for future historians. The celebration will also serve as a summer kickoff, with attendees encouraged to stay after the burial for festivities marking the milestone.
A high-flying way to celebrate Dad is landing in Hagerstown this weekend as the Hagerstown Aviation Museum hosts its Father’s Day event Sunday, June 21, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 18450 Showalter Rd., Building 8. The museum invites families to explore its collection of Fairchild aircraft, tour a visiting B-17 Superfortress and, weather permitting, purchase or donate for rides on vintage aircraft including the PT-19 and UC-61, with separate ticketing required for B-17 flights.
