Ms. Susan Q. (Stenger) Esparza, 58, of Waynesboro, PA, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2026, in her home.
Born June 30, 1967, in Waynesboro she is the daughter of the late Donald Stenger and Judy (Quinn) Smith. She later moved to Leesburg, VA, and then relocated to McKinney, TX in 2005. She remained in the North Texas area until 2025 when she returned home to Waynesboro.
Ms. Esparza graduated from Waynesboro Senior High School with the Class of 1985. She then obtained her associates degree from Pittsburgh Art Institute and NOVA School of Nursing.
She worked as a Health Unit Coordinator at Children’s Medical Center, Dallas, TX, Cook Children’s Hospital in Frisco and Prosper, TX.
She also spent several years teaching at Sunshine Kids preschool at Stonebridge United Methodist Church in McKinney, TX.
She was a very involved member of Prestonwood Baptist Church, Prosper. She enjoyed traveling, going to the beach, running races, and when she had spare time, she enjoyed reading a good book. Above all else, she was a great mom who loved her children dearly.
In addition to her mother, Judy Smith of Waynesboro, PA, she is survived by her three children, Julian Esparza of Alexandria, VA, Tyler Esparza of Dallas, TX, and Reagan Esparza, of Justin, TX; and one brother, David Stenger and his wife Tracy of Charleston, SC.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Robert & Wilma Quinn, her father Donald Stenger, and her stepfather, George Smith.
A memorial service to honor Ms. Esparza’s life will be held 11:00 A.M., Friday, July 10, 2026, in Faith in Christ United Methodist Church, 100 S. Church St., Waynesboro with Pastor David Deatrich and Rev. Dr. A. Robert Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, 953 S. Potomac St., Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services Friday morning in the church.
