WAYNESBORO, Pa. — Local residents will have the opportunity to transform fallen foliage into seasonal masterpieces next week during a collaborative community arts program in the park.
Renfrew Museum and Park has partnered with the Alexander Hamilton Memorial Free Library to host “Leaf Painting in the Park” on Wednesday, June 10. The free, interactive workshop will take place from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Lions Club Pavilion, located at 1010 E. Main St.
Organizers said the event is designed to encourage participants to appreciate local environmental resources while engaging their creative talents. Attendees will gather natural materials from the surrounding park grounds to use as unique organic canvases.
“Make nature your canvas while enjoying the scenery of Renfrew Park,” event coordinators said in a joint statement, adding that the activity aims to “turn detritus into mini works of art.”
The program is open to the public, and all age groups are welcome to attend. In an effort to keep the activity accessible to all community members, no pre-registration or fees are required. The initiative is supported in part by the PA Forward Star Program’s health literacy framework, which promotes community well-being through active learning and outdoor engagement.
Individuals seeking additional information about the event may contact the Renfrew Museum and Park administrative office at 717-762-4723 or the Alexander Hamilton Memorial Free Library at 717-762-3335.
