CHAMBERSBURG, Pa — The Franklin County Historical Society-Kittochtinny will offer the public a chance to step back into the Revolutionary War era during a guided walking tour scheduled for June 10.
The event will begin at the Old Jail on East King Street and feature four tour departures at 6:30, 7, 7:30 and 8 p.m. Admission is free, though advance registration is required.
Each tour will last approximately 35 minutes and include three stops tied to the county’s Revolutionary-era history. Among the featured locations is the Chambers family burial plot at Falling Spring Church Cemetery, where participants will learn about individuals and events that shaped the region during the nation’s fight for independence.
Organizers said the tour is designed to highlight local connections to the Revolutionary War while providing historical context about Franklin County’s role during the late 18th century.
Following the walking portion, attendees are invited to return to the Old Jail for refreshments and to explore the historical society’s exhibit, “Franklin County in the American Revolution.”
The program is part of the organization’s ongoing efforts to engage the community with local history through interactive and educational programming.
Those interested in attending must register in advance. Additional information is available by contacting the Franklin County Historical Society-Kittochtinny.
