L. Keith Shanholtz, 87, of Greencastle, PA, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2026. Born July 15, 1938, in Chambersburg, PA, he was the son of the late Fred S. Shanholtz and June Vard Sword Shanholtz, who later married and became June Wagaman.

Keith grew up in Greencastle, PA, and attended Greencastle Schools. He began his lifelong career in the automotive industry at the age of 15 with Hicks Chevrolet in Greencastle. He continued working there until 1981, when he opened his own business, L.K. Shanholtz Body Shop, in Marion, PA. Keith made his home in Marion, where he raised his family and proudly operated his business until his retirement.

Keith was known for his strong work ethic, dedication to his craft, and the pride he took in delivering high-quality work. His passion for cars was evident to everyone who knew him, but even more important to Keith were the relationships he built along the way. He treasured the friendships, conversations, and connections he shared with his customers, friends, and family throughout the years. In 2022, Keith returned to Greencastle, where he enjoyed walking through town, visiting local yard sales, and reconnecting with the community he always considered home.

He is survived by his children, Lori Sanders, Tim Shanholtz, Jamie Shanholtz, Cindee Kimmel, Jerry Shanholtz, Andy Shanholtz, Alan Shanholtz, Brad Gift, Carol Carlisi, and Chip Gift; 19 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Terry Barbuzanes and Dean Wagaman. In addition to his parents, Keith was preceded in death by his first wife; his second wife, Janice Picking Shanholtz in 1998; his third wife, Doris Shanholtz in 2021; and two children, Robin and Tony Shanholtz.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 1, 2026, at Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, PA 17225. Chaplain Don Picking will officiate. Interment will follow the service in Cedar Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00–11:00 AM on Monday prior to the service at the funeral home.
