WAYNESBORO, Pa. — Rain and cool temperatures did not deter local vendors and residents from gathering at Main Street Park on Saturday for the annual kickoff of Mainstreet Waynesboro’s Market at the Park.
An estimated 200 attendees braved the inclement weather to support 20 local vendors, marking a resilient start to the market’s summer and fall season.
The open-air market featured an array of regional goods, including locally grown produce, fresh meats, seasonal plants, handmade crafts, baked goods and local honey. Attendees were also treated to live music throughout the morning.
The market, located at 25 E. Main St., serves as a central hub for community gathering and economic support for small-scale regional agriculturalists and artisans. Following its opening weekend, the market will continue to operate every Saturday through Sept. 26. Standard hours of operation are 8:30 a.m. to noon.
In addition to the regular Saturday morning schedule, this year’s lineup includes specialized theme dates to engage community members of all ages. Upcoming highlights include Get Grilling Day on June 14, Fairy Fest on June 28, and a special evening Night Market scheduled for Thursday, July 31, from 5 to 8 p.m.
The event is organized by Mainstreet Waynesboro Inc. and is supported by several regional sponsors, including Wellspan Health, Trident Enterprises, the Waynesboro Rotary Club, Middletown Valley Bank, Wize Windows and Orrstown Bank.
