Pennsylvania State Police, members of Dauphin County Criminal Investigation Division and Derry Township Police Department conducted “Operation Wrong Place” on May 15-17. This operation focused on using social media platforms to locate and identify persons who use the internet to sexually exploit children.
The following nine individuals were arrested for various offenses involving unlawful contact with minors, criminal use of a communication facility, corruption of minors and various other felony offenses:
- Andrew William SMELTZ, W/N-M, 54, Lykens, PA
- Juan C. MARTINEZ, W/H-M, 36, Lykens, PA
- Phillip James BEAMESDERFER, W/N-M, 39, Fredericksburg, PA
- Louis Damian RODRIGUEZ-ALDAZ, W/H-M, 48, Hummelstown, PA
- Aaron Lee FLEMMING, W/N-M, 48, Dillsburg, PA
- Kevin Leigh APPLEBY, W/N-M, 53, Harrisburg, PA
- Marvin Antonio FLORES-JUAREZ, W/H-M, 33, Waldorf, MD
- Jonathan Ray BEHNEY, W/N-M, 64, Lebanon, PA
- Kenneth L. BRETZ, W/N-M, 73, Harrisburg, PA
As a result of this operation, there were additional investigations. The Pennsylvania State Police are dedicated to ensuring the safety of victims or potential victims of child exploitation and human trafficking.
