WAYNESBORO, Pa. –Ten-year-old Evangeline received overwhelming community support during the Ice Packs and Six Packs Classic softball tournament fundraiser held Saturday, May 9, at Memorial Park.
Hosted by Rough Edges Brewing Co. in partnership with No One Fights Alone Cancer Benefit Inc., the event raised $4,500 to assist Evangeline in her battle with Ewing sarcoma, a cancer affecting the bone and soft tissue.
The double-elimination tournament began at 9 a.m. and featured six teams competing throughout the day: Biltwood Powder Coating, Villains, Eagles, Raw Doggin’, Pick Ups and Outlaws.
The Villains, recognized by their blue and green jerseys, captured first place in the tournament, while Raw Doggin’ finished second.
In addition to the games, attendees enjoyed food from Fat Russ BBQ, a beer garden and small games of chance, creating a day centered on community support and fundraising efforts.
Organizers credited the success of the event to numerous sponsors and volunteers who contributed to the fundraiser. Sponsors included No One Fights Alone Cancer Benefit Inc., Treasure Chasers07, Becky and Ashley Crafts, Maandpa Treasures on Whatnot, Mason Dixon Flea Market and the Eagles Club.
Community members gathered throughout the day to show support for Evangeline and her family while helping raise awareness for childhood cancer and Ewing sarcoma.
