Mr. Robert L. “Bobby” Hamner, 71, of Waynesboro, PA passed away Thursday, May 14, 2026, in the Waynesboro Hospital.
Born May 30, 1954 in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late Lee R. and Alberta M. “Bertie” (Weller) Hamner. He was a lifelong resident of the Waynesboro area.
He graduated from Waynesboro Area Senior High School with the Class of 1972.
Bobby worked with his father at L.R. Hamner Excavating and Contracting and Zep Oil Company, both of Waynesboro. He later owned and operated his own garage for many years, which was currently known as Bobby Hamner Truck and Trailer Repair.
He was a member of Acacia Lodge #586 F.&A.M., Waynesboro and the Valley of Harrisburg Scottish Rite.
Bobby is survived by his wife of over 27 years, Wilma L. (Beltz) Hamner; three children, Courtney Sword (Matthew) of Clear Spring, MD, Lee Hamner (Micah) of Shreveport, LA and Margaret Cox (Tyree) of Wilmington, NC; his step-daughter, Amy Snowberger of Troy, PA; four grandchildren, Alexander, Nicholas, Jamae and J’Leeon; and two great-grandchildren, Brixton and Hudson.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M., Tuesday, May 19, 2026 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, PA.
Religious services and burial in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro, PA will be private.
