WAYNESBORO, Pa — The 37th Annual Youth Festival will return May 17 with a full afternoon of free outdoor activities, educational programs and live entertainment designed for children and families.
Hosted by Buttonwood Nature Center, the event will take place from 1 to 5 p.m. at Pine Hill Recreation Area.
Organizers said the festival will feature hikes, a StoryWalk®, hands-on activities, educational stations, demonstrations and exhibits throughout the day. The annual event has become a longtime community tradition focused on outdoor recreation and environmental education.
This year’s featured entertainment will include “Birds of Prey,” an educational wildlife presentation by Miller’s Wildlife.
Founded in 2019 by Patrick Miller, the organization offers interactive programs centered on wildlife conservation and ecological awareness. During the presentation, attendees will learn about the characteristics and hunting adaptations of several raptor species, including owls, hawks and falcons.
Program organizers said the presentation will explore how each bird interacts with its ecosystem while encouraging audiences to develop a greater appreciation for wildlife and conservation efforts.
The Youth Festival also will include opportunities for families to participate in outdoor activities and educational experiences aimed at connecting children with nature.
Admission to the festival is free.
