Debra J. “Deb” Carbaugh, age 73, of Greencastle, PA, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born in Waynesboro, PA on April 15, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Nathan and Geraldine Robinson Myers.
Debbie was a 1971 graduate of Greencastle-Antrim Senior High School. She went on to work for Wellspan for 49 years, retiring in 2021. She was a member of Montgomery Brethren in Christ Church, where she enjoyed Sunday School Class and helping with the church activities. Deb also enjoyed motorcycles, boating, reading, watching the Hallmark channel, and sitting on the porch.
Surviving is her husband of 53 years, Dennis W. Carbaugh; a daughter, DaLea Carbaugh of Upton, PA; daughter in law, Heather Carbaugh of Chambersburg, PA; two grandchildren, Taylor Nelson (fiancé Samantha Vitko) and Amayah Grace Roberts; and six siblings, Sondra Pohl (Roger) of Greencastle, PA, Pam Akers (Randy) of Greencastle, PA, Rory Myers (Pam) of Shade Gap, PA, Kim Woodring (David) of Greencastle, PA, Dawn Reasner of Greencastle, PA, Kristal Shearer (Joe) of Waynesboro, PA; and numerous other extended family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Duffy Carbaugh in 2023.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 12 noon at Montgomery Brethren in Christ Church, 6727 Montgomery Church Rd, Mercersburg, PA 17236, where Pastor Japheth Nell will officiate. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service in the church and address above. Interment will follow the service in the adjacent church cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc., Greencastle, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the charity of one’s choice.
