Mr. Clarence Lee “Jock” Weller, Jr., 79, of Greencastle, PA, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, May 2, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Born February 10, 1947, in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of the late Clarence L. Weller, Sr. and Betty I. (Armstrong) Weller.
Jock was a 1965 graduate of Chambersburg Area Senior High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1966 to 1967 and continued his service in the Army Reserves for an additional five years.
On April 21, 1984, he married Brenda Lee (Cowan) Weller at Open Door Church in Chambersburg, PA. Together, they built a strong and loving blended family, thoughtfully taking time to ensure their children grew together as one. Their union was one of commitment, patience, and deep love, and over the years, their family grew to include six children.
Jock was known for his incredible work ethic and a life that was rarely still. He was a skilled diesel mechanic by trade, working for Antrim Auto Parts and later dedicating 20 years to United Parcel Service before his retirement. His knowledge and hands-on abilities began at a young age, learning alongside his father at Weller’s Garage on Route 11. Whether it was engines, equipment, or everyday problems, Jock had a way of fixing things, and he was happiest when he was busy doing just that. Even after becoming disabled in 1997 following a heart attack and strokes, it never quite suited him to slow down.
A member of the Greencastle American Legion, Jock found joy in the simple, meaningful parts of life. He loved hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting, tending his garden, and taking peaceful drives through the mountains. He and Brenda enjoyed traveling together, especially to visit family in Texas, Tennessee, Alabama and the Gulf Shores to enjoy the beaches. They also shared special memories from a trip to Bermuda in 1990.
Above all else, Jock’s greatest love was his family. He cherished time spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, finding happiness in their laughter and pride in their lives. He was a loving and caring man who would do anything for anyone. He was a steady presence, a hard worker, and someone who showed his love through both his actions and his unwavering dedication.
In addition to his beloved wife, Brenda, he is survived by six children: Linette Eby (Arvin) of Waynesboro, PA; Lynn Weller (Connie) of Mobile, AL; Timothy Weller of McConnellsburg, PA; Casey Stine of Bedford, PA; Scott Weller of Waynesboro, PA; and Amber Rowland (Karl) of Clear Spring, MD. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren: Christopher Welsh (Jessalynn), Nathaniel Welsh, Stephanie Green (Joshua), Jessica Weller (fiancé Chastin Seeby), Hope Stine, Chase Stine, Lucas Stine, Landis Weller, Destiny Weller, Tearanie Lake, and Gabriella Gatrell; two step-grandchildren, Christopher Eby (Lisa) and Dustin Eby (Caitlin); and six great-grandchildren: Kayden Schildt, Octavia Lake, Dillian Lake, Teghan Lake, Josie Johnson, and Callum Welsh; along with step great-grandchildren, Beckett Eby and Emery Eby. He is also survived by his siblings: Vesta Kern of Shippensburg, PA; David L. Weller of Shippensburg, PA; and Susan M. Burke (Thomas) of Carlisle, PA; as well as many nieces and nephews; two brothers-in-law, Charles Cowan (Yuko) of Japan and David Cowan (Jodi) of Texas; and two sisters-in-law, LaDonna Musselman and Susan Cowan, both of Mercersburg, PA.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Michael E. Weller, Martin L. Weller, and Anna F. Pentz.
