Mr. Robert W. Shockey, Sr., 69, of Waynesboro, PA passed away Thursday, April 30, 2026, at UPMC Harrisburg.
Born November 19, 1956 in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late Earl E. Shockey and Anna Mary (Crider) Smith.
Robert was a graduate of Waynesboro Area Senior High School.
He and his wife of over 49 years, Barbara K. (Starliper) Shockey, were married on February 12, 1977 in Waynesboro.
Robert worked at Landis Tool Company, Waynesboro. He retired after more than 40 years of service with the company.
He was a member of The Owl’s Club, Joe Stickell American Legion Post #15, Waynesboro Fish and Game, and Blue Rock Church, all of Waynesboro. He was also a life member of the South Mountain Fish and Game.
Robert enjoyed riding his Harley and going to Bike Week in Daytona. He also enjoyed his corvette, reloading his own ammo, hunting, riding his John Deere mower, racing and especially, spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Melaine Witek and Robert Shockey, Jr. (Keren Besecker), both of Waynesboro; two grandchildren, Caden Shockey and Kenadee Shockey; his aunt and uncle, Glen and Virginia Shockey of Greencastle, PA; and many extended family members and friends.
He was the last of his immediate family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl “Harry” Shockey and Lloyd Shockey.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, May 6, 2026 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, PA with Pastor Greg Helman officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Zion Cemetery, near Quincy, PA.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services, Wednesday morning, in the funeral home.
