Walter B. “Barney” Coldsmith Jr.,71, passed away on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2026, at Laurel Lakes Nursing Home. He was born July 21, 1954, in Chambersburg, the son of the late Elizabeth M. (Eberly) and Walter B. Coldsmith Sr.
He was formerly employed at The Woods Company. Walter grew up in a farming family and loved everything about farms and tractors. He was a kind man who saw the best in people. He attended the Overflow Community Church in Chambersburg.
Walter is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Ann Hansen; his son, Michael David Coldsmith; five grandchildren; two sisters: Barbara Spencer and Bethann Coldsmith; a brother: Bernard “Joe” Coldsmith; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Carol Ann Coldsmith and his brother, Bryon Coldsmith.
