CHAMBERSBURG, Pa- Certified child passenger safety technicians will be available Thursday, April 2, from 2 to 4 p.m. at 830 Fifth Ave. in Chambersburg for a free car seat check event hosted by Keystone Health.
Nearly half of all car seats are installed incorrectly, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The event aims to help parents and caregivers ensure their children’s car seats are properly fitted and secured.
Attendees can stop by anytime during the event for a professional inspection and guidance from certified technicians. The service is free, and no registration is required.
If inclement weather occurs, the rain date will be April 23 from 2 to 4 p.m. Organizers encourage families to take advantage of the opportunity, noting that a correctly installed car seat significantly increases a child’s safety on the road.
