Mrs. Doris Patricia “Patsy” (Stoops) Wagaman, 94, a resident of Gettysburg Center – Genesis Health Care, Gettysburg, PA and formerly of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Sunday, March 29, 2026, in the nursing home.
Born September 22, 1931 in Five Forks, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Daisie Mae (Sheffler) Stoops.
Mrs. Wagaman was a graduate of Quincy High School with the Class of 1949.
She and her husband, the late Glen N. Wagaman, were married April 4, 1954, in Hagerstown, MD. Mr. Wagaman died on April 29, 2004.
Mrs. Wagaman worked at Stanley Company, Nichols Discount City and TB Woods, all of Chambersburg. She also did private in-home cleaning in the local area until the age of 80.
She was a member of Flohr’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in McKnightstown, PA.
Mrs. Wagaman enjoyed cooking and baking and especially enjoyed making homemade potato chips. She also enjoyed making Diamond Dotz pictures for family and friends. Above all, she treasured time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by three children, Valerie K. Martin of Hummelstown, PA, Brenda F. Redding (Steve) of Gettysburg and Brian N. Wagaman (Cassie) of New Bern, NC; three grandchildren, Bradley Martin, Brenton Wagaman and Cara McMahon; four great-grandchildren, twins Danny & Lina Martin, Jack Wagaman and Ellie Wagaman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was the last of her immediate family.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Wagaman was preceded in death by 17 brothers and sisters.
Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, April 3, 2026 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro with Pastor Gene Tucker officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Zion Cemetery, near Quincy, PA.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, Friday afternoon, in the funeral home.
