Mr. Clifford D. “Doc” Taylor, 76, of Chambersburg, PA, unexpectedly passed away Thursday, March 26, 2026, in his home.

Born October 3, 1949, in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of the late J.D. and Margaret (Sipes) Taylor.

Mr. Taylor graduated from South Hagerstown High School with the class of 1967.

He and his wife, Mrs. Donna K. (Cordell) Taylor were married August 21, 1971, in Hollowell Brethren in Christ Church, Greencastle, PA.

He worked at the family business of Waynesboro Builders Supply / Servistar, Waynesboro, where he held various different positions throughout the years.

Mr. Taylor was a member of the New Guilford Brethren in Christ Church, Chambersburg. He was an avid golfer, whether that was catching a good match on T.V. or playing one. He had a special love for football and baseball and was partial to the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Baltimore Orioles. Above all else, he was a family man and enjoyed spending special time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by one daughter, Marcia Wertz (Jason) of Bedford, PA; two grandchildren, Sam Helfrick (Sandy) of Greensburg, PA and Tyler Helfrick (Addison) of Bedford, PA; his eight siblings, J.D. Taylor (Sherry) of Sharpsburg, MD, Sharon Glover of Adrian, MI, Diane Armstrong (Dave), of Shady Grove, PA, Carl Taylor (Kim), of Myrtle Beach, SC, Brenda Kelbaugh (Rick), of Boonsboro, MD, Linda Shanholtz (Kenny), Nina Penn (Ed), and Rachel Mentzer (Dean), all of Hagerstown, MD; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Brian D. Taylor who passed away in 2003.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, March 31, 2026, in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro with Pastor Lawton Jacobs officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services Tuesday morning in the funeral home.

In honor of Doc, the family has requested everyone attending the services to wear Pittsburgh Steelers attire or black and gold.
