GREENCASTLE, Pa. – The Waynesboro Area Cancer Auction has united the community to support Franklin County neighbors undergoing cancer treatment for the past 43 years.

“As we gear up for another successful year, we invite you to join us in making a difference,” said co-chairs Alison Huber and Kristyn Martin. “All Ages, All Stages, One Fight” is the theme of the auction, set for Saturday, March 28, in Green Grove Gardens, 1032 Buchanan Trail E. Doors open at 3 p.m., the silent auction starts at 4 p.m. and the live auction begins at 5:30 p.m. Tables are first come, first served, and food and beverages will be available. The auction is a “fun and casual event and no tickets are needed,” added Huber and Martin.

Since 1982, the auction has raised over $2.6 million, including a record-breaking $122,000 at last year’s event, supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Inc., Four Diamonds, Wellspan Oncology Bridge Fund, American Cancer Society to sponsor one room at the Hope Lodge Baltimore and one room at the Hope Lodge Philadelphia for an entire year, LiveStrong Chambersburg YMCA, Waynesboro YMCA Cancer Support Program, Cumberland Valley Breast Cancer Alliance and WACA Direct.

Ready, set, bid

In addition to hundreds of silent auction items, those attending may bid on a variety of items during the live auction, including golf packages, tickets to sporting events and concerts, hand-crafted items, jewelry, furniture and household items, gift certificates for membership to local organizations and services, and get-aways and classes at a number of locations.

Other live auction items include:

One Camper (age 6-16) will attend the youth football camp hosted by Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley June 6 at Bishop McDevitt High School, Harrisburg, that includes a one-on-one photo with him.

You can experience a behind-the-scenes tour of the Pennsylvania State Capitol with State Rep. Chad Reichard followed by a complimentary lunch for four.

Wolfe’s Exotic Encounters will bring snakes and lizards to your party or event. The shows are a multifaceted experience where they will show and discuss each animal in front of the audience and answer questions. They will allow your guests to come and hold and interact with the animals one-on-one.

Also available are a scratch-off lottery ticket tree, a mink and leather jacket, a Mardi Gras dinner, farm to table and Mother’s Day brunches and a private showing of a movie of your choice from a selection at Waynesboro Theatre that includes popcorn and a drink for each person.

Auction clothing featuring the theme is available online from Infinity Designs, 1500 E. Main St., Waynesboro, at:
