Mrs. Elizabeth L. “Betty” (Welsh) Sites, 91, of Waynesboro, PA passed away Sunday, March 15, 2026, in her home.

Born August 2, 1934 in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Ambrose C. and Rethea H. (Moats) Welsh. She was a lifelong resident of the Waynesboro area.

Mrs. Sites graduated from Quincy High School with the Class of 1952 and later attended Waynesboro Business College.

She and her husband, the late Robert A. Sites, were married on January 27, 1952 in Eakles Mills, MD. They moved to Furnace Road, Waynesboro, PA in 1963. Mr. Sites died on August 14, 2023.

Mrs. Sites worked at Corning Glass Works, Greencastle, PA and prior to retiring in 1990 was working in the shipping and receiving department.

She was a member of the National AARP and enjoyed decorating cakes and bowling.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Eugenia R. “Genie” Sites of Waynesboro; one granddaughter, Carmen Horniak and her husband, Jonathon of Waynesboro; five great-grandchildren, Brandon Ulrich of Waynesboro, Caelin Ulrich of Waynesboro, Ashlin Ulrich of Waynesboro, Dominic Horniak of Waynesboro and Jonathon T. Horniak of Florida; two sisters, Bernice Koons of Quincy, PA and Claudia “Sis” Tallent of Zullinger, PA; one brother, Tim Welsh of Quincy, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Robert A. “Bobby” Sites, who died on February 24, 2023; sisters, Jayne Kauffman, Ruby Wagaman, Delores Jean Welsh and Brenda Baker; and brothers, Rodney Welsh and Ronald Welsh.

Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, March 20, 2026 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, PA with Pastor Bill Shank officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Zion Cemetery, near Quincy, PA.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Thursday evening, in the funeral home.
